Real North Carolina Wedding: Abby + Nate, Part II

Only good things can come from blending wildflowers, hay bales and wedding cake from the Underground Baking Co.  This is one down-home reception you know the guests must have thoroughly enjoyed.  We're quite taken with the Hickory Nut Gap Farm where Abby + Nate celebrated with their guests, and couldn't help but let out a collective sigh when we saw Olivia Griffin’s last portrait of the newlyweds smooching in their makeshift photo booth.  Want to see more?  Take a peek at Olivia’s blog post here.

Describe your wedding flowers: I wanted very simple and elegant flowers.  I used ranunclulus with some pretty leaves around the bouquet.
Describe your wedding cake: Our cake was a simple, elegant  three-tiered cake.  The cake was wheat-colored with ranunculus all around it, and was tiered to the left instead of being centered.
What was the biggest challenge you had to overcome while planning your wedding? Nerves and budget.  I had a smaller than average budget, so I had to be creative with finding ways to make our wedding elegant but not expensive.
What was your most memorable moment about your wedding day? Seeing Nate before the ceremony.  He stood in a big field of yellow flowers and I came up behind him.  It was so special.
What’s next for you as a couple?  What are you looking forward to in the future?  Nate is going back to nursing school, and I am looking into making wedding cakes!

Congratulations, Abby + Nate!  We'd love to try one of your cake creations!

Oh my gosh I love the way this wedding looks. What a cool white color and her dress was amazing!
