Real Texas Wedding: Hope + Jordan, Part I

Hope + Jordan win this week’s – or month’s! – award for Most Fun Wedding.  And why wouldn’t they?  From the sleek classic car and aqua-colored flatbed truck (which matched the bridesmaids pool blue Milanoo frocks perfectly, I might add) to the bridal party’s vogue session (shot by Crosswhite Photography), H + J definitely pulled off one “electric” celebration!  We love the intimate Chapel Dulcinea in downtown Austin almost as much as the stark juxtaposition of the bride’s white-white Milanoo slip dress and the groom’s all-black ensemble.  Lipstick red daisies from Farmhouse Blooms gave just the right pop of color to this retro wedding.

How did the two of you meet?  Tell us your story. It all started with a puppy play date. I swore to him it wasn’t a date, but long talks about music and spirituality led to finding the love of our lives. A little over a year later, we had our first date … our wedding.
Describe the proposal:
It was so natural.  One minute we were watching the dogs play, not dating, dreaming about eloping to New York, and the next it was all about picking out records and accent colors for our rockin’ wedding.  We were just made for each other.  One day the ring magically appeared, perfect in every way, and the planning sailed on.
Three words that describe the day are:
Electric, colorful, power-chords!
Our favorite detail of the wedding was:
We spent hours poring over our music collections hunting for the perfect songs, so to hear them all come together was awesome.  Of course, the vintage 1962 Cadillac limo was the power image we needed to really proclaim our rockin’ theme, and the blue pickup truck parked at the Chapel was a sweet surprise.
Tell us about finding your wedding dress: I bravely ordered online!  Milanoo was a lifesaver for the starving artist budget, and I was allowed to customize the fish tail back.  I was able to order a birdcage veil to my own specifications from birdcageveils.com.  It really completed my vintage look.
