Love for Serenbe
You've already seen the sneak peek of our cover shoot, but I wanted to share a few more behind-the-scene images that I took while we were at Serenbe. Out of all of our crew, I think I might have fallen in love with the location the most (Lara would be a close second, but the spotty iPhone reception was not a point in its favor!). Despite flash flooding in the days leading up to our shoot, the weather -- and the property -- was absolutely beautiful when we arrived.
From the moment we stepped into the Inn, it was impossible not to feel at ease. All of the Serenbe buildings, from the Inn to the restaurants to the residential community, look like they've been there a long time -- in a really great way, of course. The mix of sleek, black and white modern and antique, rusty metal repeated over and over throughout the property was design-y without feeling pretentious or overwrought. Whoever designed the interior of the house we were staying at, The Roost, did an especially fabulous job blending flea market antiques with minimalist Ikea furnishings.
My favorite part of our stay? Impossible to say, really, but here are a few of the contenders:
1. The cowbell tied to our house key.
2. The Blue-Eyed Daisy, the ridiculously cute bakeshop we walked to every morning for breakfast.
3. The Serenbe Stables + Mindy, the lovely trainer who graciously accommodated all of our sometimes-wacky requests.
4. The vintage Royal typewriter in The Roost. Swoon...
Again, thank you thank you thank you to all of the lovely folks at Serenbe who made our stay a breeze: Garni, Wanda, Mindy, we love you all! And to our brides: you truly could not choose a better place for your wedding. I have a pretty intense love for Serenbe, also. I've started shooting engagement sessions around there pretty regularly. It's perfect for all of my clients who love the outdoors!
