{Southern} Details: Bonnie + Steve

This fabulous wedding took place at the stunning {Celebration Hotel}.  Flower arrangements by {Greenery Productions}. Wedding cake by {Party Flavor Custom Cakes}.  Did you check out all three of Bonnie's bridal gowns? Bonnie wore three dresses throughout the day and looked stylin' in them all.  The two white gowns were from {Jasmine Bridal} and {Maggie Sottero}.  The final Chinese-style gown was from {Eaststore.com}.  The bridesmaids wore {Alfred Angelo}.  Photography by {Studio222 Photography}.  Check out more shots from Bonnie + Steve's big day on the Studio222 {Blog}.

How did the two of you meet? Tell us your story. Bonnie: We met in Toronto, Canada where we worked for the same aerospace company. We were introduced by a colleague who was playing matchmaker, and began dating after Steve agreed to a total fashion makeover and I was pleased with his newfound style.
Describe the proposal: Steve: A week before we closed on our first home, I got down on one knee and asked Bonnie to marry me. We then celebrated our engagement with a three-course fondue dinner.
What attracted me to my husband was: How he takes care of me the way a gentleman would.
What attracted me to my wife was: Her beautiful eyes and how she puts up with my bad jokes.
A date we went on that we’ll always remember: Bonnie: For one of our first dates, Steve suggested going to “My Apartment” for a few drinks. I thought Steve was suggesting that we go to his place and got very panicky. When I finally gathered my nerves to ask him, I was relieved to find out that “My Apartment” is the name of a local night club! We laughed about it for the rest of the night.
Were there any special family traditions you included in the wedding? Steve: I wore my late father’s wedding ring. Bonnie: I wore a traditional cheongsam (Chinese dress) in red.
What was your most memorable moment about your wedding day? Steve: During cake cutting, neither Bonnie nor I knew exactly what we were suppose to do. We kept looking around for hints as we struggled to carve out a slice of the cake. Our guests were all wondering what was taking so long! I guess we should have paid more attention at other weddings.  Bonnie: After our guests have left, Steve and I went back into the event room for more photos. As we held each other in front of the performing string trio, we enjoyed an intimate moment ourselves as husband and wife knowing that all the hectic planning was over, and the wedding was exactly what we had hoped for.
The weather on our wedding day was: A perfect day in sunny Florida.
What was the design inspiration for your wedding? We wanted a design that’s simple and cozy to go with the old-world Florida charm of the venue.
Describe your wedding flowers: The bride carried a bouquet of white calla lilies and hand wired green cymbidium orchid blossoms, and the groom wore a green cymbidium orchid blossom boutonniere accented with green hypericum berries.
Describe your wedding cake: A three-tier white buttercream cake accented with brown ribbons and green cymbidium orchid blossoms. For the cake topper, we had king and queen chess pieces made of chocolate.
Our favorite detail of the wedding was: The brown and green candy buffet. It was a huge hit!
The most unexpected event on our wedding day was: Unexpected event? No way! We’re such control freaks we had everything under control!
Three adjectives that describe the day are: Simple, Elegant and Intimate.
Any DIY items? Yes. We created the place card trees with Manzanita branches and the cymbidium orchid and wheatgrass centerpieces.

Congratulations to Bonnie + Steve.  We wish you a lifetime of success and lovelyness.
