Gia Graham Color Palette: Eggplant, Raisin, Plum and Leaf

I am loving this week's color palette from the talented Gia of {betsywhite}. She proves that just because you are having a Spring wedding, you don't always have to go with the traditional spring colors. The shades of purple in this palette give a great bold look to this lovely garden atmosphere. Make sure to check out Gia's previous two color palette posts: I and II.

From Gia: Spring palettes don’t always have to be light colors or pastel shades. This deep, rich, delicious blend of purple tones could work just as well for a spring wedding as any other palette. The trick with purple is to go with a tertiary tone – not so much a ‘Purple Rain’ purple (sorry Prince!). Pairing those hues with a fresh color like leaf green makes it work for spring.

The bride and bridesmaids: The bride’s bouquet could be filled with purple flowers in various shades while green Cymbidium orchids with purple ‘throats’ would look really pretty against Eggplant or Raisin colored bridesmaid dresses. Plum-colored pumps would be a fun accessory for the bride.
The groom and groomsmen: The men could wear light-colored suits with interesting ties – plaid, striped or patterned – which incorporate the green and/or purple tones. Fiddlehead ferns could be incorporated into the boutonnieres to add the deep Eggplant color.
Accents and Details: To keep the palette fresh and appropriate for spring, details throughout the event should be set against a light-colored backdrop. For example, white linens on the tables or an all-white cake with just a few green and/or purple flowers.
