My students. Not a day passes that one of them doesn't say or do something that makes me giggle to myself and show them a huge smile. Today, it was one saying "Oh Miss ******, I looooooove you." Even on the worst of days, I know I will find a smile in my day!

What makes me happiest? Coming home from a long, long day and being dead tired...and then being surprised by the wonderful smells of my fiance making dinner (usually homemade lasagna)!!! I'm instantly reminded of dozens of reasons why I love this man and want to spend the rest of my life with him. Yep, I'm a lucky girl!

Newlywed here. My favorite thing is getting home after a very long day, jumping into my softest jammies and snuggling up with dinner and a movie. The simple things in life are what matter.

OK, my entry doesn't count, but I couldn't pass up a chance to share what makes me happiest:
God's grace, my family and amazing friends, the kindness of strangers, the love and support of the brilliant women I have the honor of working with, skiing, leaping over things, laughing with people I love and with perfect strangers, the silence that comes with the first snowfall, hearing my grandma's voice, children, babies (I know you'll love that one Katharine!!), fall leaves, digging my toes in the sand, adventure, and Pinkberry. : ) Lara --and I have to add one... dance parties with the Mammoth Men. Legendary.

My wake-up calls in the early morning from my very most favorite person right now makes me happy. Just starts the day off right. . .

Stumbled across this blog tonight - love it!

What makes me happiest? Hearing a little voice every morning from the next room saying : "Mommy, are you awake"? Melts my heart every single time.

My heart truly smiles each night when I lay in bed and hear the sweet sound of the LOVE of my life's voice on the other end of the phone saying, "Sweet dreams baby, I'll meet you there!" He is the man of my dreams and I cannot wait for the day that we can lie next to each other and have that goodnight kiss. HE makes me happy.

So I have spent the past 3 years living in Chile, where I met my wonderful husband to be. Recently we just moved to Brazil so that he could study his masters. (Which is another 2 years abroad) Afterwards we plan on moving to the states so that I can be closer to the family and he can experience my culture. I am missing the Southland like crazy and this website really helps me to feel connected. The wedding will take place only 2 months after our arrival state side.

You can imagine coming from other sides of the world there are so many different things that we have had to learn about each other. It is really a lot of fun comparing childhoods and style of jokes etc.

This Christmas he is coming home with me for the first time to meet my brother and sisters as well as all of my friends and extended family (parents have already met him and approved whole heartedly). He is a bit nervous about the trip and has decided to learn everything he can about my family's Christmas traditions.

The best things excite him...he has asked that no one give him flip flops or other summer related articles....only scarves and mittens. He practices his English everyday, looks at the IHOP menu online and studies friends' pictures on facebook to make sure he knows who's who. And best of all he is learning the words to ever hokey Christmas song ever made.

The other night I heard him in the shower singing "Oh you better watch out, you better not cry, you better not pout I'm telling you why: Santa Claus is coming to town."

How can a girl not feel completely overwhelmed with happiness to hear that?

I smile when I see him, my fiance - an occurrence usually once a month. But it's enough, when you know - you know.

Reading about complete strangers weddings makes me happy, because it's showing global love! These people who I will no doubt never meet, inspire me in different ways and are unknowingly contributing to what I hope will be my own amazing and inspiring wedding - I love SW for bringing these beautiful weddings to those of us who just love LOVE itself!

November 11, 2009 | Unregistered CommenterSylviaO

My fiance and our little girl Maddie, bring endless smiles to my life.So many to choose from but here's one of my favorites:

I am usually the first to wake, but every once and a while they let me sleep in late ...only to wake me up with a fabulous homemade latte : ) Maddie carries it in with careful hands and proudly asks me what I see in the design (as she is the one who always pours the milk into the shots) and all three of us come up with silly answers. Then of course I drink it up! This never fails to make my morning and cast a huge smile across my face! : )

The latest issue of Southern Weddings! We don't have a great regional magazine in town, so I LOVE the inspiration and great information SW contains. And, it is all so relatable!
