Wanwisa Wednesday

Welcome back to our sixth spectacular Wanwisa Wednesday! Be sure to check out Part I, II, III, IV and V.  Enjoy~

Every time I look at my wedding photos, the sight of my cake makes me want to cry from sheer bliss. The inspiration for it came to me during my first meal at Per Se when I noticed everything was being served on all-ivory china differentiated by an array of textures. I especially love basket weave patterns and thought it would be gorgeous to use that inspiration as the foundation of my all-ivory cake design. When working on your wedding day color palette, don’t just look to colors for ideas. Look at home magazines like Domino, Elle Décor and even life style magazines like Martha Stewart Living for home design that highlight textiles of various patterns. Look to wallpaper prints, rugs, bed sheets and even china for inspiring patterns like toile, tartan, stripes, polka dots, paisley and damask.

Have a look at some gorgeous prints for fresh design ideas for your big day! How stunning is Lena and Joshua’s Marimekko fabric makeshift photo shoot wedding? Check out more delicious photos from their wedding via Martha Stewart Weddings. For wallpaper inspiration look to Divine Design’s Candice Olsen’s collection like her chic paisley wall covering. Modern gals should look at polka dot and stripe stationery from Cheerup Cherup and for tabletop design see some bold navy and yellow ideas from InStyle Weddings. Take cue from Martha Stewart Weddings’ gallery of china inspired wedding cakes. Pattern shy? See how Mr. Boddinton’s Studio wedding invitation suites add a minor pattern touch with lined envelopes. Traditionalists will love By Invitation Only Designs’ pretty Toile Border invitations via New York Magazine Weddings. Preppy brides churn up some ideas with Swiss Dot stationery from Hello Lucky. Pattern brazen brides, look to Domino Magazine’s wallpaper gallery for unique inspiration. Let your imagination run wild!

I’m especially excited for my gal pal Michelle’s Wedgwood/Cameo theme wedding – have a peek at her design board from my first Southern Weddings Wanwisa Wednesdays posting!

Until next Wednesday! Xoxo - Wanwisa
