Real Wedding: Kellie + Warren, Part I
The weather on our wedding day was: Hot! But sunny with no rain.
How did the two of you meet? Tell us your story… We met through a mutual friend, Scott. Warren and Scott were golfing buddies. Scott was a friend of my roommate, Jay. One night after playing golf, Scott brought Warren to a local restaurant and bar to meet a girlfriend of his. Only too bad for the girlfriend, because I was there that night also. We hit it off and the rest is history!
Describe the proposal: We had recently purchased a new house, so after 4 years of dating, Warren popped the question on the anniversary of our first date in our beautiful new house!
What attracted me to my husband was: Warren has beautiful eyes and a gorgeous smile, but also a very kind hearted and easy going nature.
Why do you love your husband? For many, many reasons. He is kind and extremely thoughtful. He always goes above and beyond to make me happy, and it makes him happy to make me happy. He is generous. I love all of his silly quirks like his paper piles, his search for the greatest sale or best bargain and how he can never part with his old holey t-shirts, which every time I wash them it makes me laugh and feel so lucky to have someone so special to share my life with.
A date we went on that we’ll always remember: There are so many good ones to choose from. I guess the first ones are the most impressionable, but I love our casual Friday night dates still!
Tell us about finding your wedding dress: Great story! I went to several bridal salons in the area. All of the dresses I tried on were beautiful, but I happened to be particularly fond of designs by Jenny Lee. Her designs were simple, classic and elegant. The Wedding Shoppe in Wayne, PA carries designs by Jenny Lee , so I went to try a few on. The bridal consultant told me to come back in February because they were having a Jenny Lee trunk show. I went that day in February and selected a few dresses to try on. I modeled the dresses for my mom and Jenny Lee, who was there too! Jenny Lee selected a dress and told me to try it on. She said that she thought the dress would compliment my shape and frame and my personality. The dress was something I would have never chosen for myself, however it was perfect! I put the dress on and fell in love. Thanks, Jenny!
Were there any special family traditions you included in the wedding? Warren's father and stepmother were married 33 years before at the same venue. Laura Novak took a photo of us in one of the same locations at Greenville as his stepmother's favorite wedding photograph.
What was your most memorable moment about your wedding day? Seeing Warren waiting for me at the end of the aisle. I thought he was actually crying when I could first see his face, but it was just sweat because of the heat! The whole experience of walking down the aisle with my mom and seeing the people you care about in the same place with the person you love waiting at the other end was very emotional and memorable. Also, the sparkler exit was fun and memorable for everyone.
