Real Weddings: Angie + Tony, Part I

This elegant Asheville affair took place at North Carolina's treasured {Biltmore Estate}.   As an Asheville native, I have to take this time to brag about the lovely Biltmore.  From the towering mansion to the breathtaking gardens, this place is the perfect backdrop for a sophisticated southern soirée. Floral design by {The Bloom Room} (wait till you see the reception decor in Part II!), planning by {Weddings with Tara}, photography by {Casey Cunningham Photography}. Thank you so much Casey and Drea for sharing these fabulous images with us!  Enjoy~ Rachel

The weather was: We had scattered showers throughout the day, but everything cleared up just in time for the wedding.  During the ceremony, the sun peaked out from behind the clouds at the perfect time.  It was magical.
Tell us about finding your wedding dress: I went to a trunk show for Essence of Australia and fell in love with one of their new designs.  The dress designer was at the store and personally helped me try on the dresses.
How did the two of you meet? We met at an amphitheater in Charlotte, North Carolina.  I had season's passes and Tony worked part-time Security for the numerous summer concerts.  My seats happened to be in the same section he was assigned to guard.  After many concerts, casual flirting, and him moving me down to the front row every now and then, he finally asked me out and we've been inseparable ever since.
Describe your engagement: Tony proposed to me during a Valentine's Day ski vacation in Telluride, Colorado.  After dinner on Valentine's Day, we had to take a gondola to get from the mountaintop restaurant to our hotel.  He surprised me with the proposal in the gondola. It was perfect.
What attracted me to my husband was: Good looks and confidence.
What attracted me to my wife was: Outgoing and fun loving.
What were your something old, something new, something borrowed and something blue items? Old, borrowed, and blue were all in the blue garter my sister loaned me.  The new was my wedding dress.
What was your most memorable moment about your wedding day?  Walking down the aisle towards Tony and seeing the tears of joy in his eyes.
How was your wedding different than the way you'd always imagined it would be?  I didn't think we would both get so emotional during the ceremony.
Scariest moment?  When it was raining earlier that day.
Funniest moment? When the officiant sang a couple lines from "The Glory of Love" at the end of our ceremony.

Check back later for Part II of Angie + Tony...
