Real Wedding: Georgena & DeRico
There are some weddings you want to step right into. Georgena and DeRico's love shines brightly in these images from {Amber Ford Photography} in Birmingham, AL. We love the little ones in this wedding... the girls dancing their hearts our are just too cute! I would love to have been there when this helicopter came down to pick up the newlyweds--what an exit!
Location: {Mountain View Ballroom}, Springville, AL; Cake: Magnificent Cakes; Floral Design: Tabitha James, A Perfect Plan; Transportation: Rotowing Inc.

Congratulations Georgeana & DeRico!
From Georgena & DeRico
The weather was: A beautiful sunset, warm
Occupations: Bride –Full time Student and pre-school teacher, Groom-Personal Trainer
Number of people that attended: 225
Wedding Colors: Persimmon and Champagne
Cake: Four tiers and each tier had yellow cake but different fillings and DeRico's cake was a strawberry cake shaped and made to look like a track.
How did the two of you meet? We met on my first day away at college
Describe your engagement: DeRico proposed to me while I was at work. He had roses delivered to me and he arrived shortly after the roses did. We were standing on the playground with 15 3yr olds running around us when he whispered in my ear “So do you want to marry me?” He then extended his hand palm up with the ring turned inward on his pinky finger.
What attracted me to my husband was: His smile
What attracted me to my wife was: She just had the sweetest personality and it was genuine
A date we went on that we’d always remember: A client of Rico’s owned a helicopter and he took us for a ride then afterwards we went for dinner at our favorite restaurant.
Honeymoon destination: Carnival Cruise (Belize, Grand Cayman, Cozumel, Honduras)
Scariest moment? When I could not find the vows. I still cannot believe I lost the vows! Luckily I had saved them on the computer and I was able to retrieve them from there.
Funniest moment? One of my ring bearer’s shoes was too little and he did not have any sock so he was the only one in the wedding party completely barefoot. I learned of this 5 min before the start of the wedding. What else could i do but laugh?
The most unexpected thing on your wedding day was: How calm I was when it was time to walk down the aisle.
How was your wedding different than the way you’d always imagined it would be? When I was a little girl I just always imagined having a traditional church wedding. My wedding was outside still pretty traditional but I never imagined it being as grand an affair as it was. It was so romantic I would not change a thing about that day!
What was so unique and special about your wedding? Besides marrying the perfect man the fireworks and the helicopter really made our day memorable by all!
What’s in store for you and your husband in the future? We are in the process of buying our first house and we are also expecting a baby in September!
